Music | A tendency for sticking to the familiar rather than sprawling out, which entails deep familiarity with a limited number of records. Includes Hip-Hop (old school, K. Lamar), Classical Music (Bach, Late Romantics), 60s Rock, and a dash of Latino Folk/Rock, Bossa Nova. |
Books | A dilettante in philosophy with a case of 'big-book syndrome'. Taught myself enough of the language that I can read all of those H-named Hegels and Heideggers and Husserls... Struggling to make inroads into my acoustic and ever expanding 'future reads' list because I'm a slow reader who takes copious notes. I also read the occasional history book.
The syndrome also extends to my choice of novels. Authors I've enjoyed reading: Borges, Mann, Vargas Llosa, Kafka, Joyce (retroactively, have to revisit). Last book I finished was Blood Meridian, thumbs up. |
Film/TV | Will watch any good film, whether from 2024 or 1954. Especially into dark comedies, crime stories, the occasional historical epic... so yeah basically Scorsese. |
Interests/hobbies | Besides all of the LAME nerd shit elsewhere in my profile (philosophy, languages, history, art), I go to the gym (irregularly) and I'm a pretty kick-ass skier. Piano. I'm dipping my toes in other sports now that I have free time, lyk. |

Specs: Dark blonde and blue eyed, a stubble and a slightly (tastefully) more accentuated flaxen mustache underneath an asymmetrical nose. 5'10 (womp womp). Slim, but not scrawny. Been told to have a handsome face, though mostly—but not exclusively—by nice old ladies. Moving to the Bay Area in late June to work in research, eventually looking to do a PhD. Want to meet new people & have fun :) |
