Books | The two Georges--Orwell and Saunders--are on my nightstand. But I'll read almost anything. I'm just glad "Books" is even here (I'm guessing it's not a category on Tinder). |
Film/TV | I am the intersection of people who are good at watching sports and Jim Jarmusch movies. |
Interests/hobbies | Crossword puzzles. Perambulation. Knowing the way, getting lost. I'm a musician, it's what we do. |
Link to Letterboxd/Goodreads/other social media | Speaking of ironies, I truly don't use social media anymore (I did have a myspace)--except to find this thread on Reddit pretty much by accident. |
Anything else you want to share | I just found this sub today and was inspired because it reminds me of the ""old days"". I'm even using the handle from my Nerve.com profile. My first post to the rs_x was going to be a contrived question about dating apps. This is better. I am a newly single dad under no illusions about finding a mate via a Google Form. But that's all good. This is more about taking a moment to unironically celebrate and honor a corner of the internet where the discourse/people appear to be real and human in a way that feels old-fashioned. It's almost like a sociological experiment (a good one, not ethically dubious). |
